Kim is a creative desert-dweller, educator, and artist, who enjoys creating with a variety of mediums including her camera, clay, iPad, sewing machine, phone, voice, and found objects. Her inspiration stems from her dreams and adventures.
As a ceramic artist, Kim is fascinated by space and science fiction, which she translates into whimsical, colorful, and mysterious small-batch sculptures and wares. She primarily works with Cone 5 porcelain paper clay, valued for its resilience and suitability for her sculptural visions. She also enjoys making with reclaimed mid-fire (Cone 5) red/brown clay. Kim is drawn to clays with texture, grog, and an inherent earthiness, desiring to connect with the material's history and raw essence in her creations. Each piece she crafts tells not only her story but also the story of the earth itself.
Kim is a leadership member.
